We were all overjoyed when we found out we would be hosting a #DisneyKids play-date! The first thing we did was invite all the little ones we know because no one wants to be left out for a fabulous play-date like this one was shaping out to be! Fortunate as we are, Disney World just a drive away for us. We all love going there, but some of the younger ones only heard tales about the magical times we spend at the Disney Parks. So we decided on a Disney Park Tour in our own backyard! It was truly magical! A big thanks to our friends at the Disney Parks Team who provided tools and pixie dust to create beautiful Disney memories at home! Here we go with a Magical #DisneyKids Play-Date for Pre-Schoolers.
Talking Folklore Around the World at Epcot
Our first stop for little princesses and pirates was Epcot. In trying to tour the globe like you would at this fantastic park, we decided on a fun game for the little ones. All we did was fill a basket with hats, toys and images that represented different countries around the world. Each child was invited to select and item and tell us if they knew where it came from. Once the correct pairing country was identified, we tried sharing a bit more like the capital city or traditional foods eaten at that particular country. By far the easiest country for us to identify was Argentina, which impressed me because our Argentine guests had not arrived yet. I guess they have had a big influence in our lives!! Thanks to the Frozen friends, our Norwegian troll was another item that was easily paired to the correct country 🙂
A Roaring Time at Animal Kingdom
This station was a definitive favorite and we took quite a long time at it, and kept coming back to it! Arlo and Spot from the Good Dinosaur where the perfect hosts that encouraged the children to imitate the sounds the different animals on our cupcakes made! This was the easiest activity ever to put together that delivered much excitement and enthusiasm!!! Of course, after each roar or growling session, we shared a bit about the animal the kids were imitating.
Disney Junior Fun at Hollywood Studios
We took the opportunity to sit down and try and calm down a bit from all the Epcot and Animal Kingdom excitement at Hollywood studios in great Disney Junior style. Thanks to the new Disney Channel TV program, The Return of the Roar, we almost had an additional roaring contest, but as we started applying tattoos the kids were focussed on which ones they wanted to choose. As they patiently waited their turn for the tattoo, we were able to color and create sandwich bag puppets.
Magic Kingdom Excitement
We saved the very best for last with our special visit to the Magic Kingdom. After everyone had some fun at the treat stand, we rounded everyone up for one of the great traditions we love so much when we visit: a parade!!!!!! Parents were the spectators as the little ones sang and marched in the cutest and smallest parade ever!
Once again we proved what we know so well: Disney Magic makes dreams come true, even if in our backyard! A little bit of learning, exploring, some creativity, and loads of happiness and laughter summarizes our #DisneyKids play-date as well as our Disney Parks visits. After so much pixie dust shared with friends, we were absolutely elated, happy and exhausted by the time the play-date was done. Needless to say, we are all dreaming about out next Disney Park visit!
I have to say this was the best way to introduce preschoolers to the magic of Walt Disney World Resorts We are ready to do this again. This time, I need some help from you, tell me, how do you celebrate and share pixie dust with your friends and family?
