Our Thoughts on Ice Age Collision Course
This movie has plenty of funny moments, and you will laugh out loud with the crowd in the theater. As with every Ice Age movie, friendship and family are at the center of it all, and we love it. Plenty of Spanish words here and there too for you to learn, review or indulge 🙂
All Scrat’s moments were hands down my personal favorite and I could get enough of them. Same for the kids. I even have one that now wants to be an astronaut inspired by Scrat’s adventures or mis adventures 🙂
It seems that our unique heard of friends Sid, Manny and Diego are always headed to some collision course, but this time, their story is headed to one that seems definite. Parents, no need to worry, while it might sound fatalistic, it is not about in your face doom, although the story line hints at the fact that it is impending.
There are several stories brewing all around the central theme of the collision. Manny’s daughter, Peaches, is about to get married, and the family is dealing with her independence and new chapter in her life. A great opportunity about talking to the kids on growing up and resposibility.
Then there is Sid in his quest for true love. I don’t want to give out any spoilers, but eternal youth can be a bit weird for the kids, and to explain. You will see this is well all the yoga we have been sharing with you comes in. Ommmmmmmmm, I used this to talk to the kids about aiming to be stress-free and chill by enjoying every moment to the fullest.
Overall the movie did give us a minute to talk about having different types of people in our lives, and opening our minds and arms to them. Inclusion, tolerance, and respect were easy to touch upon using the movie as the perfect tool for a lesson builder 🙂
We say take the family to watch Ice Age Collision Course. It is great family fun.
