Spring gives way to great changes! I love to call it my spring season renovation time. That is because it is when I start getting ready for spring AND summer activities around my house. As in many homes, the kitchen is our center of operations. With all the use of it, it needs some TLC to keep it looking good. More than that, it is time to upgrade, enhance and renew. How to do of that in a cool, zen and chill way? Well, with these Stress-Free DIY Remodeling Tips, of course 🙂
Stress-Free DIY Remodeling Tips
I want to do it all. That means that my projects might become a burden more than a joy. To avoid that from happening, and to ensure I enjoy my remodeling, I put into action these easy Stress-Free Easy DIY Remodeling Tips:
-
Make a list of what you envision:
This will allow you to think through what you want to achieve. It is usually at this point that I clearly see what is a want, a need and what is feasible.
-
Set a budget:
Keep your pocket and financial sanity in check by setting a realistic budget. This will help you streamline your project further to what can and will be done from your vision on point #1.
-
Divide the projects into small tasks:
This is especially helpful if you are doing all the work. You will feel accomplished, proud and motivated to take on the next item of your list as you cross out the one before it!
-
Think storage and organization:
Regardless of what remodeling project your are undertaking, making sure you will have storage areas and an easy way to organize your area will make the end result a joy to live in.
-
Upgrade:
Since you are in the process of renewing things, it is time to think about upgrading. For example, your remodeling of your kitchen is not complete without a new Self-Cleaning Slide-In Electric Convection Range with Front Control/Slide-in Range featuring ProBake Technology! (Sku 5117702) I for one would love a LG – InstaView™ Door-in-Door® fridge because I am all over its large french door capacity and the sleek glass panel that allows you to see inside the easy access door without letting the cold air out. Simply knock twice on the glass to illuminate the contents within. Beyond cool friends. Sku 5365900 in case you are going to search for it.

This is a very strong list. I just re-did my kitchen and the one thing that definitely saved me was sticking to my budget while making sure anything we upgrade is reasonable and what we really want. Thank you for the awesome post.

I feel like it’s an oxymoron saying stress-free remodeling. You make it look like it really is stress-free though. I will have to keep this post in mind when I move into my house.

Storage and organization is a big one for us. We downsized considerably and it’s hard to find a place to put things.

I loved that you mentioned to set a budget. This is SO important because I have found that even with a budget, it’s VERY easy to go over. I always try to set a budget but add a bit of padding just in case I do have to go over (thanks to some unforeseen repair or cost that may come up along the way).
