I was invited by Disney to D23 Expo and Disneyland & Disney California Adventures. All opinions shared are 100% my own.
It is time to Hero Up and join the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy in a land of super fun and great food. The Summer of Heroes is in full swing at Disney California Adventures and after spending two nights playing there, I have to share with you 7 Awesome Reasons to Hero Up at Summer of Heroes in Disney California Adventures.
7 Awesome Reasons to Hero Up at Summer of Heroes in Disney California Adventures
Well, Groot could very well be number one on this list, but we are going to be fair and not play favorites. As a professed FanGirl, geeking out was easy as pie, or as the most dangerous tacos in the universe…Here are 7 awesome reasons why
-
Identify your inner hero:
I am all team IronMan and team Thor. That said, I went ahead and took the hero test at the Hero Action Center. Guess what, I discovered I am more of a Guardian of the Galaxy type of superhero, who knew! I got my stickers and comic book and was off to, well, to guard the galaxy.
-
Eat and Drink like you wear a cape:
There is a special menu for heroes at Disneyland that seems to be infused with delicious super powers. My special research did reveal some tasty treats that are not to be foregone like the Spider-bite doughnuts at Schmoozies. Cool moms tip: they run out quick so get there early! The Most Dangerous Tacos of the galaxy at Knowhere EatsOr the Groot- shaped bread (sourdough and jalapeno-cheddar flavors) at Fairfax Market Place. Remember every hero must keep hydrated. I suggest the Milano (Fanta® orange freeze with blue cream) and for those heroes, 21 and over, there are Cosmic Cocktails and Nectars (wine) to enjoy. -
Meet Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy team members
My friends had to hold me back from trying to drive the Avengers truck as it rolled by us. It is the coolest way to ride the Disneyland streets if you ask me. Hawkeye was in the area when he saw me try to flag down the Avengers truck. He came over and reminded me only Avengers in full hero outfit could drive it, and invited me to meet for some pictures with Captain America, Black Widow, and Spiderman.

Train Like a Hero: Avengers Training Initiative.
The younger superheroes in your group (6 – 12 year-olds) can join Hawkeye and Black Widow for a special training similar to the Jedi Training Academy to join the Avengers team. -
Dance on the Galaxy’s Street Party
To celebrate the successful Avenger training, how about a street dance party? The Awesome Dance Off” with Peter Quill and Gamora happens several times through out the day in front of the Mission Breakout ride. Groot might be fashionably late so don’t leave early. -
Get The Hero Colors: FREE face painting.
After training and dancing go get your FREE face painting. This face painting has several motifs available to choose from for every hero fan.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout Ride.
Confession: this chicken did not ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout. But, but, but, you have to walk through the line! The Tower of Terror is no more and the Guardians have taken over with amazing decor items that truly are out of this world! For details on what you will experience riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Mision Breakout go over and read my super hero friend Candy at Candypolooza.com
Be sure to take advantage of these 7 Awesome Reasons to Hero Up at Summer of Heroes in Disney California Adventures through September 10th. Also, if your little ones are in the mood for some extra dancing, do check out the Disney Junior Dance party!
Which super hero do you think the test will reveal you are most like?
