You got your school supplies, the first week of school menu ready, and the school uniforms ready to go. There is nothing like setting up our children for a successful school year! The kids are pretty excited, although a bit reluctant to see summer end. I must confess to the same. Nevertheless, we have 3 First Day of School Traditions that have us always looking forward to it and beyond 🙂
Hanes is sponsoring the giveaway in this post. Opinions share are 100% my own.
3 Easy First Day of School Traditions
Of course, I try to take the famous first day of school photo, but I confess to having done it a few days after when our routines are a little more settled in. We have some other traditions that get us all hyped for the day. Here are 3 Easy First Day of School Traditions for you:
1. Day before party/ dinner:
Marking the first day of school always starts for us the day or night before. We either have a few school friends over for a simple low key pizza party. Alternatively, a restaurant dinner can get the kids just as excited.
2. The backpack fairy:
Ok, so the backpack fairy makes a few appearances a year to help boost confidence or wipe away jitters. The one day the backpack fairy never fails to surprise us is, as you guessed, the first day of school. Usually, we get special Hanes socks or underwear under our pillows on that very first day of school with a note wishing us success in our new school year from the backpack fairy. How thoughtful right?
3. Decorate your car:
I like filling the back seat with balloons or serpentines. While the kids know already something is waiting for them in the car, I keep them guessing :-). Plus a ride to school with a bunch of balloons makes for a lot of fun that guarantees walking into that new classroom with nothing but smiles!

Honestly I am still working on a good/consistent first day of school traditions.
