Felicidades!

Well, I only understood a couple of words in this post (sorry), but we don’t do anything to celebrate Chinese New Year. They have a huge celebration in Boston’s Chinatown every year and I would love to get in and see it some day, but it’s usually too cold.

I understood quite a bit actually–it is the year of the Horse., and the beginning of the Chinese Year begins in 15 days. It is a time for families to get together and celebrate- in China at least with lumineres (paper balloons with light of some sort inside which are sent high into the sky I think) You also wrote down all the other signs! No, I have never been to a Chinese New Year celebration, do they have one down in Chinatown in NYC? As for writing or speaking Spanish I am not so so good -un picita.

I’m not sure how much I picked up but it sounds like it’s a celebration that lasts for a little while? That’s neat! I’m not sure which of the animals is mine from the Chinese zodiac. I used to know that, but I forgot!

  26. Pam says

Happy Chinese New Year! I will have to brush up on my Spanish and try reading it again, LOL. I have never considered myself fluent but while working for a major school district with a majority of Spanish speaking students, I would do pretty good with keeping up. Retired for over 4 years now and it tends to leave you if you don’t use it daily.
