Many times movies inspire me to discover destinations or create ambiances that really make my heart flutter.
How many times have you watched beyond the movie itself and thought how much you would like to replicate a living room, a bed frame or wall decor at your home? I know, not many go through this because you are into the plot of the film itself. But, I find myself day dreaming with set decor. With the recent release of The Hobbit movie, we were taken by details that truly make a statement in interior design. Read on this sponsored post to see what I mean.

Hobit Ornate metal details |
I love doors, and when traveling will take lots of photos of all kinds of doors. This door definitely caught my eye. While it would be extremely expensive and a bit difficult to install something very close to this at home, I can always go back to other details that can convey the sentiment. Take for example this lock and key system

Muchas gracias!
I would love to do something like this for our bonus room.
My mom love decors like this. I love the vintage Chandler! Thank you so much for sharing.
The Hobbit es mi libro favorito y me gusto mucho la película, muy interesante la idea de utilizarla como inspiración para decorar.
I love decor like this as well, beautiful. I also like to find pics of old barns, some of my favorites. While in South Carolina, I took so many photos of the beautiful iron work and the staircases, doors and windows, old architecture is the best architecture 🙂
Me encantó el libro del Hobbit y ya quisiera vivir en una de esas casitas con puerta redonda y make my hole 😉
I never really thought to use movies as inspirations for home decor, but then again my kitchen is done in a Betty Boop theme!
I definitely notice the decor in movies – I think I’m a little decor starved with having lived in rental houses our whole married life (don’t put nails in walls, yada yada yada). My husband always says he wants a hobbit hole complete with a round door lol.
To my knowledge I have never really noticed the decor in movies-but then I don’t really go very often to see any. I do drool over the total houses on occasion-like the old English Tudors or a hacienda with a garden in the center of the house.
My home is not inspired by any movies but i do really love old big stately homes Here in England i would so love to live in one lol.
I swear to god, my parents have that chandelier, but they had it long before The Hobbit movie came out, so maybe they’re the trendsetters here 🙂
I know, I tend to get inspired by such too – though I rarely watch movies for the purpose of getting inspiration for decors – it just comes to me when I am drawn to a certain type of movie.
Me encantan tus ideas
Does having a Marvel super-hero office count? My fiance is big into Marvel and we have a lot of screenshots and memorabilia in his office.
I think movies are a great way to inspire, I cant decorate at all but hey I am willing to try!
Que lindo todo, y si a mi me inspiran mucho las movies para decorar jejee… Cariños y
¡FELIZ DÍA!ॐ

I really love this chandelier. I will look great in our living room ..so vintage looking 🙂
I LOVE vintage, and this really speaks to me. I love looking for the finer details in home decorating!
If I had an older home, I would so love to have decor like that in my house. As one poster said, those old English homes, I just love their designs!
I’m not much for decorating at all, I think I’d be rather disappointed if I even tried. lol
I love all the decor in those movies. I will have to check out the site, I’m sure they have some great stuff on there!
It’s so cool that you found a really similar chandelier! I have never thought of decorating based on a movie.
Ok we would totally redesign and decorate in a hobbit or Elf style if we could! I seriously love the design!
That chandelier… I had one that looked just like it maybe 30 years ago. I didn’t like it so I junked it. Bet if I had it today, I could get a pretty penny out of it.
Fabulosas ideas!
What some gorgeous ideas – I love those keys and door knobs, I have a bit of a thing about suck things I think they can be very cute. x
I have not seen the new movie yet, but I do love some of the decorative items that you share. I love the door knobs. I think that the old look is great!
I am not sure I would go for the Hobbit theme for decoration – I have never seen the movie. I love to decorate with antiques and am super excited that we are going to be buying a new house soon and it will have tons of antiques in it. I will book mark that page so I can find them when I start my shopping.
I like to use movies to inspire me to decorate.
I never thought about letting a movie inspire you. If that were the case I wish my house looked like the Great Gatsby!
I always see decor in the movies that I would love to recreate in my own home.
My parents recently sold their home which they had lived in for over 50 years. They had very similar door knobs on their doors and the only keys they had to their house were those skeleton type keys. I love that look, however I am not sure it is very secure.
I would love to do things like this for my home. I am a romantic at heart, with these fixtures and the right paint, I could feel like I too was part of the movies that I love
This is a great idea! I have had clients describe a movie house orTV show set for what they want
I think picking out something like this as an accent piece would be great! It’s also easy to change out for the “next movie”. ;0
I should probably learn how to decorate with some sense of style.. I pretty much suck at it! I like the modern type stuff but old stuff is great too!
I usually just go with whatever looks nice to me. I’ve never thought about using movie to help decorate. Sounds like a great idea.
I love the Hobbit door as it got me thinking in creative ways to use it. When I lived in LA, there were few places I visited that were like movie sets.. it is an interesting option.

I love the movie but I’m not sure if that’s my style. Thanks for sharing.
