We are very ready for the Big Game coming up. Rivalry at home is at a high point. Kids and grown-ups alike are just excited to watch the game together and enjoy our home-gating. While hubby is taking charge of the savory side of things which will include his very spicy wings, I am gearing up for a special SNICKERS® sweet treat. For those “whew” moments I am throwing in some Life Savers® so we can tease each other with them. Even if teased we will surely enjoy Life Savers along with our SNICKERS Dessert Salad recipe which is perfect for game time.
Sports has a very important place in our lives and we truly live it out with lots of passion when we watch games. We are loud and obnoxious when we root four our teams at home. The football fever has been growing and growing. So, this game is anticipated to be the most fun to date that we enjoy with friends and family. Since we have fans on both camps for this game, my intention is to offer a sweet salad that will tame the over excitement of the victors and make the loss more sweet than bitter for the other side. Yes, we are avoiding the penalties here. I just had to throw in some jargon. We are passionate but not violent 🙂
This recipe is a hand me down from a very dear friend and mega sports fan. We were surprised by one of the ingredients it calls for, but believe me, it all works very nicely together. Don’t be alarmed, all ingredients are readily available at Walmart.
We call our fruit and SNICKERS dessert salad the “Blurry Scoreboard” because it seems that every time we eat it after a game, we focus on the flavors and forget about the game result. Here is our extra easy touchdown recipe (it yields 6 servings of a scoop of ice cream size per person)
Ingredients:
- a tub of whipping topping
- a cup of chopped fresh strawberries
- a cup of chopped pineapple
- a tablespoon of mayonnaise
- a quarter cup of pineapple juice
- half a cup of pecans
- a cup of chopped SNICKERS (more or less 10 to 12 minis sized pieces)
Instructions:
- Use the bowl you will be using to serve the dessert salad. Combine the mayonnaise and the pineapple juice.
- add the rest of the ingredients to the juice mix in the bowl and mix in some more.
- once done mixing all the ingredients, let it stand in the refrigerator over night
- serve and enjoy!
It is just so easy to make, and so delicious to enjoy! In reality you can add just about any and all fruits you can think about. We normally add grapes, mango and pears to make it a big SNICKERS fruit salad 🙂
My sweet station will be very busy on game day! Will you tackle this SNICKERS dessert salad for your celebration? Do you have any SNICKERS recipes you love making?
