I am happy and proud that so far I am in track with my healthy lifestyle changes for 2015. As I push forward, and also try to tackle better my weight loss goals, I am copying my aunts detox routines. Made out of water and fruits or veggies, she swears by these “water magic” as she calls them because they have been the secret to not only her weight loss but keeping the weight off. These Detox- Weight Loss- Youth Preserving Waters for Our Fitness and Healthier #CoolJourney are going to help keep in track.
So, whether you are looking to feel and look healthier or loose weight, your best bet is to include 6- 8 glasses of 8 oz. water to keep hydrated and vital organs in check. Your intake of water can get spiced up with natural ingredients that can help us flush toxins and loose weight Here are 3 Healthy Water Recipes I am adding to my weekly menu:
Detox and Hunger Control
The ingredients for this infused water are Lemon-Chia. Lemons help get rid of the toxins in your digestive system. Lemon also has pectin which suppresses hunger. Chia helps control hunger and anxiety by making you feel fuller for a longer period of time.
5 tablespoons of Chia seeds
4 sliced lemons
1 large pitcher of water
Mix add the ingredients together and stir constantly for 2 minutes so the Chia seeds don’t become blob balls. After the two minutes of mixing, leave the mix sit for five minutes so the Chia seeds can get hydrated and enlarged.
Water- Ginger-Cucumber-Lemon- Mint: Flat Tummy Help
Lemon, we already know, is filled with detox properties will flush the system and hunger suppressing power. Ginger is a powerful root that helps us feel full. It is also has: anti-inflammatory properties, helps against gas, relieves from nausea or motion sickness and dulls appetite among other things. The cucumber helps you fill full for a longer period of time while it also acts great on its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory as it supports the digestive system and helps us manage stress. It is also a fabulous natural diuretic. Mint helps eliminate toxins in our body when ingested regularly, and it also aids the digestive system. It also relieves gas, diminishes hunger and helps stop cravings.
2 sliced lemon
1 sliced cucumber
1 teaspoon of grated ginger root
1/2 cup of mint leaves
a pitcher of water
Mix all ingredients together and let the mixture infuse overnight.
Detox Youth Preserving & Slimming Water
Basil is great for your hearth thanks to the magnesium it gives us plus it fights free radicals. Did you know that free radicals contribute to an aging looking skin? Mix a cup of Blackberries with 5 basil leaves in a pitcher of Green Tea solution. Take it an hour after the ingredients have been mixed together.
Now I know drinking these mixes alone won’t do the trick. Exercise and eating right are needed as well. Nevertheless, this definitely motivates me to keep working on my weight loss and healthier lifestyle goals. These waters will hold for up to 2 days, but they shouldn’t last that long if you are working on your 8 glasses a day of water!
No time to make any of this water drinks? Well just plain water will still put you in the right path. Remember you need to drink your daily intake of water!
