We go to the beach, play in the pool, go for boat rides, try to body surf and have water balloon fights. We are not staying still this summer. We have already done a few things and the plans show a full calendar! While we will not be running any marathons, there is definitively a lot of outdoor activities going on, so I need to make sure in my mommy bag of all good things I have enough water to keep everyone hydrated. Yes, you are right, hydration is not only for athletes. It is all about water for this family of water babies, including a Summer Splash with Flavored Ice Cubes.
In Miami, locals usually visit the beach early morning or after 4 pm. Today, we are planning for an afternoon play date at the beach. With our ideas of What to do at the Beach with Little Ones ready, we are now focusing on the picnic basket to bring with us. The first thing I am packing is water for everyone big and small. During the summer, the combination of heat and humidity can leave you feeling thirsty and dehydrated from just sitting outside. I have water, my fruits and veggies which also contribute to hydration, along with some cheese, crackers, and some special ice cubes.
To keep us sipping more yummy water, I have a little fun and easy recipe to treat kids and moms alike during our playdate. How about some Flavored Ice Cubes?
Tip1: if the blueberries are thawed enough, you can try mashing them along with the basil too.
Tip2: you can also puree fruit and water mix and freeze them before hand. This way when the fruit cubes melt in your glass of chilled water, you will enjoy a light refreshing fruit juice of sorts – no mashing required 🙂
Tips3: combine mint and lemon cubes for a “Mojito” inspired water. You can let include some lemon zest to your cube.
How about it? Getting thirsty? Have a glass of water with Flavored Ice Cubes!
This recipe couldn’t be easier and a good twist on something already good for us! Come on, get your creativity out. We encourage you to give water in all its forms a must-have item this summer. How about our Summer Splash with Flavored Ice Cubes? Get your creativity going and make your own combinations of flavored ice cubes in your water! Will you give it a go?
Cheers to your summer water memories! How do you keep refreshed and hydrated?
