We are spending a lot of time in our backyard this summer. Grilling is in full force, and our hammock is getting put into a lot of good use. I wanted to find a little something extra to set out there to hold candles, forks or even flowers. So I came up with the simplest idea ever. My little Summer Jar DIY is both cute and versatile. You can find more uses for them besides having them sit pretty in a line of 10 of them to enhance your summer decor
You only need 3 items to make this project, and you will be done in under 5 minutes with one. Good news if you plan on making a few of them ๐
Summer Jar DIY
To make one summer jar, you will need:
Materials:
- 1 jar
- 1 roll of ribbon. I used thread ribbon that looks almost like twain
- 1 charm
Procedure:
- Cut your ribbon as long as the width of your jar plus estimate how long you want it to hang over the jar
- Get your jar and put the ribbon around the jar’s mouth
- Make a knot to hold it in place, and then proceed to do as if you were about to tie your shoe laces
- Before you finish the above, insert the charm in what will be the second loop of the “bunny ear”
- Proceed to finish the bow
- Voila! you are done and ready to make another
Don’t you just love easy quick DIY that will be so useful and decorative? I am placing a tea light in each of my jars to light this afternoon. I can’t wait for the final effect. What will you put in your Summer Jars?

I’d put red, white, blue carnations. These are so adorable. Love the charm! And you can use different color glass and rope/string for different holidays, too! Found you at The Sunday Social ๐
