Wow! I was nominated to “Best Latino Parenting Blog” by Latism!! What an honor! I am humbled and grateful for it. By parenting, all mothers and fathers understand that Parenting Is A Labor Of Love And Education and molding little people into amazing citizen of the world. Our hopes and dreams for our children may be limitless, and so we strive every day to give them the nourishment, tools and attention to help them make their dreams a reality. Who knows, maybe that little dream of being a scientist will end up in the cure of cancer or the little ballerina will rise up to feed culture and art into the lives so many others that will go watch her perform. And so, with that said, education is paramount. It is key to reach for our dreams and contribute to those of others as we further our community positively.
One of the things that I enjoy most about being a blogger is being able to work from home. This means to me that I am available to the kids to support them and help them with school. I answer questions, teach them to research, push them and reward them as they take me back to elementary school. It is a luxury. Also, being a blogger helps me share some of my passions with my readers. Far from being an educator, I feel I can still use my blogging voice to share information that constitutes education for some. Take for example the time I posted about how I planned to celebrate Chinese New Year or a sandwich bag puppet DIY., and I got emails telling me I had taught someone something new. That really got to me.
I didn’t stop to think that my Latin recipe might be new to my Russian, Canadian or Irish reader, or that talking about life as a Latin family tugs at the heart strings of readers in Argentina, USA or Colombia. the truth of the matter is that we continue to learn everyday from everyone. Our pursuit of education should not stop. We should encourage everyone to get a degree as that diploma opens amazing doors. Those doors hopefully one day will lead to giving back to the world. The more we know, the more we grow, and so, education should not stop. It should not stop with a degree or age. The more we know, the more we can contribute to others, even if it is sharing a recipe which inadvertently might open a whole new world to someone. You can spike curiosity in others and help them grow!
I hope that I do contribute with my lifestyle parenting blog to the development of others. If anything with making readers want to know more about a subject. If my ramblings do that, I am over the moon!
