After a quick two-hour flight from Miami, I think we will have fun with an active Father’s Day in Atlanta. Atlanta is the perfect place to go to celebrate dad for a three-day weekend with golf outings, running and hiking trails and even adrenaline-pumping adventure. Attractions in and around Atlanta area offer something to do for every kind of outdoor aficionado.
Things to do in Atlanta
- For a twist on a classic, golfers of any skill level can go to TopGolf Atlanta– Midtown to enjoy state-of-the-art games mixing the concept of darts and golf into one. Pair an afternoon of burgers and beers to score a hole-in-one with dad.
- If dear old dad is looking to get his feet wet on Father’s Day, he can head to Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area for a day of tubing, kayaking or canoeing. Outfitters along the river have everything you could need to enjoy the great outdoors and shoot the ‘hooch.

- For hikers looking to spend Father’s Day seeking new heights, Stone Mountain Park is the place to be, boasting beautiful views of the city from 1,683 feet. After a hike up the mountain, relax on a train ride around the base of the mountain and take in the famous Stone Mountain laser show to round out a great day.
- If you have the need for speed, take a ride down Georgia’s ultimate zip line with North Georgia Canopy Tours. With two courses to choose from, dad will have a ton of fun racing through the trees and getting up close and personal with all Mother Nature has to offer. Camping, outdoor games and hiking can be the perfect ending to a day of high-flying adventure.
I can’t wait to discover Atlanta! Any suggestions you have to visit Atlanta? What would you visit first?
