The Miami Auto show kicks off the auto show season this week instead of the traditional November date in the Magic city. If you are in the market for a new car or are a car enthusiast, you have until September 18th to visit the show. We did go already, as part of our partnership with Toyota. It was the perfect time for us to Wrap our heads around Safety Technology to Drive Carefree.
Learning About Safety Technology to Drive Carefree
The Toyota celebration is focused on safety and gold. Did you know that the Toyota Corolla has been in the market for 50 years? A golden anniversary that speaks volumes about our love affair with a reliable car that surely makes part of your family history.
#ToyotaLovesFamilies and it shows.
Thinking about the youngest and oldest drivers in the family, Toyota has put together a series of resources, tools, seminar and talks to help parents teach teens how to be a safe driver. By the same token, there are a couple of tools to help experienced mature drivers brush up on their driving skills.
Toyota Safety Sense
Driving the Toyota Avalon for a week, my drive had become more stress-free thanks to features that prevent accidents and help you be a better, safer driver. I am talking about things like the automatic high beams or the lane departure alert. At the Miami Auto Show, I was impressed to learn that Toyota has been hard at work to bring Toyota Safety sense to us. Many of the components of the Toyota Safety Sense program might not be that obvious. That is because they become an integral part of our daily driving like the or because we won’t see them until an accident is imminent. The Toyota booth gives us the chance to ask questions and get intimate with the Toyota Safety Sense program. Not a bad idea to do, since starting in 2017 most Toyota models will have it. Are your ready for Standard Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection?
It is not only about asking and learning, it is also about experiencing it first hand. You can take a virtual ride with a crash test dummy while using Oculus Rift goggles get a real feel for what Toyota Safety Sense does for us while we are on the road.
With so much safety in Toyota’s manufacturing, we get to worrying about the raccoons stealing our food while we go out camping!
Time for Luxury Performance School
At the Lexus booth, I couldn’t help but drool over the new LC 500h, set to launch in 2018. It is a beautiful sporty sedan that boasts a luxe interior that would be hard to get me out off. While the price has not been announced yet, we now know that it is a hybrid. Just not any hybrid. For the LC 500h, the electric engine will make the car faster. As curious as I am to discover and feel the performance of this baby? Lexus will be offering performance driving schools. I definitely want to get signed up for the one in West Palm Beach! (September 30th – October 2nd).
Soon I will be sharing about driving a Toyota Avalon. In the meantime, go a get more intimate with Toyota Safety Sense to connect with your inner zen driver! Did you know about Toyota Safety Sense?

So many great vehicles as always! Toyota is a brand we love! I like that camping option. Sure helps with the critters out there while camping.
I wasn’t aware of that you could experience what it is like to be a crash test dummy. Such a smart idea. Maybe it will help people be better drivers.
Being from Detroit I know all about the Auto Show. Our cities revolve around it. I once had an Avalon and loved the car. It didn’t have these safety features though that would make it better.
Oh my goodness what a great show! I’ve never been to an auto show before. Toyota always impresses!
I love Toyota cars. They are very affordable and very efficient. Sounds like you had a wonderful time
Toyota always makes some good cars. I super love this brand, perfect for me and my son.
This is my kind of car. I will consider this one, we are planning to buy one this year.
Ooooooo I just love Toyotas!!! Such great cars and great quality!
These cars look awesome! It’d be pretty cool to take a test drive with a crash test dummy.
I have always loved large SUVs and trucks, but I could easily fall in love with a Toyota Avalon! OMG, what a handsome car that is! I am glad that Toyota is giving talks on safe driving. You rarely find that kind of service in an auto show.
We love Toyotas. My husband still has a 2006 sport corolla in great condition with no mechanical issues. Its been a great car!
I’m not so big into cars but I always loved Toyotas. There’s is just something that stands out to me about a Toyota, especially the Camry.
I’m pretty loyal with Toyota. Although I would rather have them all and be unaware of what the safety features exactly does rather than risk checking them out when they’re needed.
