I received a complimentary stay at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista hotel. All opinion shares are 100% my own.
No Disney parks visit is complete without a day out of the parks where you still have a dose of the Disney flare. But wait where did Downtown Disney go? Not to worry, it just got revamped and expanded into Disney Springs! We have Seven Tips To Visit Disney Springs Like a Pro that will help you make the most of your visit and keep the magic going.
About Disney Springs
Disney Springs is a free waterside dining, shopping and entertainment destination that delights. Disney Springs is divided into four “neighborhoods”:
- The Westside
- The Landing
- The Town Center
- The Marketplace
Because it is an open air setting, you will feel the Florida heat throughout the day. Prepare to walk and stroll around. Most people tend to visit Disney Springs late afternoon or at night. That means that if you plan for dinner at Disney Springs you might want to consider reservations before hand.
Guest services is available at the Town Center area and there you can take care of every Disney related thing you can imagine. It is air-conditioned and furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, perfect as you wait your turn to be taken care of.
Seven Tips To Visit Disney Springs Like a Pro
The Basics / Overview
1.Getting To Disney Springs: Bus, boat, car or walking are all ways of getting there. Free bus service is available from every Disney resort. Water taxis and ferries are also available. I took one from the House of Blues to The Marketplace which is a few steps away from the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista (where I was staying during my most recent Disney visit) . If you drive, parking is free. Don’t forget what “fruit” (garage) you are parked in!
2. Know your way around: I love getting lost in new places. Nevertheless, if you are in a big group or pressed for time, strategize. Think as if you were at a Disney Park visit. Check out the map and outline your must-visit stores and restaurants. Each of the Disney Springs sections features different shopping and dining experiences. Because some businesses are getting finalized, moving in or moving around, make sure to get the most updated map. With your plan of action developed, remember that you can always divide and conquer if needed. Don’t forget to mark meeting points 🙂
3.Consider Disney Springs Resorts: Within walking distance of Disney Springs there are seven hotels that are part of the Disney Springs resort area. These hotels, like the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista offers great accommodations for every traveler plus convenience great location and complimentary shuttle to all the Disney Parks.

4.Dining: Most restaurants are part of the Disney dining plan. Reservations might be a good idea if you plan on having dinner at Disney Springs. You will have memorable, unique dining experiences like Morimoto Asia, The Boathouse and STK. For the cupcake lovers, you can’t leave without indulging at Sprinkles. I absolutely had to try that cupcake ATM! If you are nostalgic about Downtown Disney, you can still enjoy Earl of Sandwich and sweet yumminess at Ghirardelli’s.
5. Shopping: Most retailers open at 10 am, and you will find every price range to fit all budgets. Yes, there are Disney stores on premises including on of the biggest Disney Stores. I won’t tell you which one so you can go hunting for it :-).
Entertainment
6. Fun for the little ones: A visit to any of the Disney stores is always a treat for my munchkins. But when shopping, music, bowling and the wonder of Cirque du Soleil is not their cup of tea, the water spouts at the fun fountains in the Marketplace area are always a hit! Right next to the water spouts is the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique awaits your princess. We all enjoy the parade of princesses that come out every hour. The train express and the carousel are both $2 for children and free to parents. A pricey indulgence for the entire family is a ride on the fun Amphicars.
7. For the older ones: besides free concerts at the amphitheater, you can bowl at Splitsville, enjoy some uplifting gospel music at House of Blues or catch a movie at the AMC movie theater. La Nouba is the Cirque du Soleil house performance for Disney Springs. Don’t forget the iconic hot air balloon ride is still available too.
The more we visit Disney Springs, the more we like it. My builder extraordinaire has tons of free fun at the Lego Store building stations. The five-year-old in our group loves dancing to the music of street performers selling their CDs and a quick group photo is a must with the hot air balloon as a backdrop. Hubby swears pin trading is best at the Disney stores here at Disney Springs and I go hunting for Christmas decorations at the Disney’s Days of Christmas shop. There is something for everyone and something for the entire family to enjoy together. I hope these Seven Tips To Visit Disney Springs Like a Pro will keep the magic flowing!
