?Duck Tales woo-ooo? If you sang along right now, your 80s and 90s inner kid will be very happy to talk about The Return of Duck Tales and Jumping In The Scrooge McDuck Money Bin like me! If you are not a baby of those decades you will still want to get ready to tune in on August 11th for the Disney XD TV premiere and return of a beloved show of adventure and family.
Duck Tales and Jumping In The Scrooge McDuck Money Bin
Those that grew up watching Duck Tales every afternoon always wondered what it would be like to jump into the Scrooge McDuck Money Bin. We always saw him doing it during the opening of the show. At the D23 Expo I had a chance to do just that, and I have to tell you it is the coolest thing. After all, who wouldn’t want to dive into money??? Look at my childhood dream come true.
Can you say beyond excited jump?
What a great way to start day 2 at D23 Expo! It was so much fun!! So the money bin was like a ball pit for kids we find at party places. Instead of balls it was full of plastic coins. Maybe 4 feet deep it was a delight to jump in!! A bit hard to get out…..read it as “I did not want to get out, but they helpfully pulled me out”. It was unforgettable. I love saying I was swimming in money swim 🙂
The Return of Duck Tales
After 10 years of not speaking to each other Donald Duck and his Uncle McDuck are reunited. Donald’s nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie move into Scrooge’s mansion and re-ignite the adventurous spark of McDuck. This means that many adventures are ahead for this group which also includes a friend for the boys. Her name is Webby.
While at D23 Expo we screened the first episode of Duck Tales. I couldn’t get enough of it. I love how Duck Tales keeps true to the classic lines while modern. Donald Duck uses a smart phone, for example. I have much to tell you about Duck Tales and our exclusive interview with Executive Producer Matt Youngberg and Co-Producer / Story Editor Francisco Angones. That will be in a later post.
