The thought of having to prepare for back to school while trying to enjoy the last minutes of summer fun can be daunting for kids and parents alike.  Nevertheless, it can be fun and an opportunity to set everyone in an A+ mood 🙂  Minimize the challenges and help the kids focus on reaching for the stars.  Consider doing these 6 Things To Do Before School Starts to achieve just that:

1. Have a Fashion Show

   Go through the kids’ closet and see what you need to get rid off.  This will help know what items you will need to buy and which will be nice to have.  It is a fun way to set the mood for a shopping day for my little man who bursts out laughing when things are too short or too tight 🙂 .  Then make sure you will get your money’s worth with quality while you stretch your money and go to JCPenney’s for affordable fashion.

2. Make School Shopping Special

   Don’t make school shopping a part of your everyday errands.  Set time aside for it and make a day out of it if you can.  Include a nice lunch and talk about the expectations for the school year. 

   

   Need uniform shirts, pants, and shorts? JCPenney has them!

3. Empower the Kids

   Let them express their style as you get them involved and excited about going back to school.  We easily achieved this when we went shopping to JCPenney for their new school clothes.  They were totally inspired by the suggested outfits the mannequins were wearing, and all the different choices available for all the different styles for both boys and girls.  While both went for the camo styles, he is all about effortless utility and she is fun and trendy. This shopping trip gave them a huge self-esteem boost.  They are confident and ready with the way they will look this school year.

4. Complete the Annual Back to School / End of Summer Bucket List:  

   My kids love to share their bucket list of goals for the school year and hopes for the next summer.  It is a great way to keep them focused on goals and keep them motivated.

Cool mom tip: don’t forget your first day of school photo.  I always get help from the pros at JCPenney and take them the weekend before.  This adds to the excitement of starting school!

JCPenney is not only our one stop shop for all of our back to school needs but also instrumental to getting our family in our winning back to school mode.  I am confident that no matter what the kids choose at JCPenney they are going to be on point with trends they will love to wear over and over again comfortably.  JCPenney does carry a wide variety of different trends like the 90’s retro look or the Victorian romantic look besides the camo/ military one my kids went for.
