7 New Year Resolutions for Moms
I am looking forward to a fresh year. An opportunity to make new promises to ourselves and set off with optimism on the adventure full of possibilities. Plus with the holiday joyful madness, I will be reaching out for this list of New Year Resolutions for Moms!
Breathe in, Breathe out, ahhhh:
Take a moment. As you run through your crazy busy day, breathe. Run out the house,
drop off the kids, start working, pick up the kids, care for the house, breathe. Get dinner together work on homework, carpool to ballet, soccer karate, and tutoring, breathe. Breathe and then smile. Hug your loved ones and remember that the tantrum will pass. The days seem long but the years are short.
Make “Me-Time” – You are also a priority:
Because you are the amazing mom that you are, you focus on your family. That usually means that you are last on your list. Make sure this year, you do things for you. Don’t skip what you love, and care for yourself. You will feel refreshed, energized and happy. All key to keep you being the cool mom you are.
Be Grateful:
You have much to be happy about. Regardless of how bad your day or things might seem you are blessed. Count your blessings daily and teach your kids to do the same. Before long you will be the richest person on the planet!
Take a girlfriend trip:
Get your besties and go on an adventure. You will laugh, cry and strengthen bonds with the ladies that support you and tell you how it is. Food for every girl’s soul! Can’t go on a trip? Make it a spa day then!
Believe:
Trust that you are doing the best for your family always. Know that you are an awesome mom who showers your loved ones with so many gifts. Your love is always abundant. You always do the right thing by your kids. Resolve to believe that your children are amazing because you are doing a phenomenal job.
Focus on Family Experiences
Discover together! Share the moments and do things as a family. I can almost guarantee that when you do your checks and balances for the year, the experiences will shine through. They will also make for fantastic memories.
Don’t Procrastinate and Melt College Financial Stress Away:
Besides your time, love, and the way you believe in them, education is one of the biggest gifts you can give your children. Regardless of their age, make sure you have a plan to pay for college that will be easy for you to achieve and guarantees higher educations for your children.

These are New Year’s Resolutions I can actually keep! It’s so important to take time for ourselves. It makes us happier and healthier.
The university plan sounds so helpful! I will be checking it out for sure.
And yes, me time is so important. I usually read to get mine in!
My church is hosting a college fair this weekend and we hope to shed some light on how to make college more affordable. We will have people on hand to assist parents with the FAFSA and college application process to help make it less daunting. I know we will have lots of parents of high schoolers but I hope parents of younger kids will join us as well so they can get info to help make college more affordable.
Couldn’t agree more with “me” time. I think it is so incredibly important for moms to be able to get time to themselves because we work so hard on taking care of everyone else around us.
What some great new years resolution for Mum’s they definitely need to remember to take time for themselves as well as looking after the family.
I love all these resolutions. FOr me, I need to say NO more to others. I need to find more time to unwind and relax. Life can be so busy at times. It’s probably just the holiday season that is so hectic!
I don’t believe in making New Years resolutions. These are good suggestions to try and implement at any time of the year. as well as work into goals
I really love these ideas. So many moms get focused on themselves for a resolution, but this really puts the kids first. Love it.
Such great resolutions for moms! I especially love that you focused many of them on self-care. When my kids were little, it was the thing that got me through many stressful days. Even if I could take a warm bath (all by myself), the day seemed to go that much better. It was also during those years that I took up yoga. It helped calm my mind, especially when the kids were being fussy. x
These are some really great new year resolution ideas for moms. I will have to make some of these mine too.
I’m so all about taking a girlfriends trip to unwind and relax and get away from it all.
Oh yes planning for the future is such a great idea. Time whizzes away and before you know it they are big kids with big plans!
I definitely need to take more time for myself in the new year. Having a new grandbaby in the house made things so much busier and I got out of the habit of taking me time.
I can’t believe the year went by that fast. Now it is time to make resolutions again. Your tips and suggestions are very good. This should be both mom and dad’s resolutions. Most important is the “me” time and planning for our child’s college education.
It’s always nice to keep list as your New Year’s resolutions. Its kinda sort of your Year goal. My list can go long but my priority right now is to keep healthy by being more active and be more outdoor person than last year. Also hoping to travel more places to release stress and enjoy life than ever.
This is a great read! I love how you made me reflect on me as a person and a mom. Thank you so much!
