The idea of the New Year is exciting. It can be festive, uplifting, encouraging. I absolutely enjoy carrying out as many traditions and rituals as I can to call up abundance, happiness, and all good things. All of these things have to start with my home. It is where we come together and we devise our plans to open up to the possibilities the New Year brings. So, I ensure these 7 Tips to Welcome The New Year For Our Home are put into motion before or after the celebrations 🙂
7 Tips To Welcome The New Year For Our Home
As you prepare for the New Year, remember These 7 Tips to Welcome The New Year for our home should be thought as a good thing. This list should help you focus on fun and goodness It all relates to general things that you would be writing down on your list of resolutions, I am sure. In any case, if the list starts to become overwhelming, stop. Space it out and pace yourself. Time to glove up and make it happen!

Clean:
- The kitchen is our HQ operations center. The daily cooking, the artwork projects, and overall family living make it important to give attention to the kitchen. My secret weapon in this area of the house is a very good sponge that will help me deep clean without that much elbow grease.
- Cool mom tip: clean out the fridge on trash day.
-
Cleanse:
- I like to scrub out the floors to be ready for the New Year. Wait. don’t roll your eyes yet. I do not get on my hands and knees for it. Did you know there is a “No Knees” Floor Scrub brush that is just as effective? You will be scrubbing your floors more often than you expect because of this little wonder! By the way, I use the Libman Multi-Surface everyday floor cleaner. Spray and goooooo!

Help someone:
- Nothing will make you more fulfilled than lending a hand. So I say, go clean vents. After you have taken care of yours, clean them for someone else. We do take vents for granted and forget that they are the gateway to our home for many foreign particles among other things. Living in South Florida where the A/C is on 24 x 7, a little air vent TLC goes a long way. The best part is that you can be a vent hero with one tool: a vent brush. No need to unscrew, remove, dust, and put back on.

Be grateful:
- That is the focus when it is time to look at the bathrooms. It is all about working smarter, not harder. Mentally divide the work into areas. As you scrub the toilet, give thanks for the bowl as opposed to an outhouse. In the shower or tub, I get in my “me time” now that I am a mom. So yeah, big gratitude thoughts here while I let a heavy duty scrub brush do the deep cleaning for me. This will make the job breeze by.

- Put the music up to some good merengue. You will need a partner for this, so get the effective Libman Tornado Mop. While you dance, exercise, and have some fun, you will take leave your floors spotless in no time!
-
Wipe away evil:
- Channel your inner shaman and chant as you wipe down surfaces around your home. Make sure you do it with a microfiber cloth that delivers a streak-free shine. This really does add to the final overall look of a clean and perfect
Divide and Conquer
Finally, get your family involved. At the very least have them follow the “3 pile rule” which is great to maintain order. It works like a charm. Hand out a bucket and go around the house. If there are 3 things out of place in a room place them in the bucket. Once the bucket is full, sort everything back to its original place.

I can totally relate to getting your “me time” in the bath! Though when my kids were really little, even that wasn’t sacred! Great cleaning tips, especially the “3 pile rule.”
I love how you set us in the right path to resolve for a clean home!! I am going to order one of these vent brushes. So clever!
Really great tips, I think I need to do more dancing like no ones watching next year, because I was too serious for 2017 that forgot that sometimes it’s great to have some fun.
Number 3 and 4 are so important. I love the rewarding feeling of helping others. It brings me true joy. Being grateful is something I struggled with in 2017 and hope to keep getting better at. Happy new year!
Yes, I want to do every single one of these. I lean but I don’t really cleanse every day. And I never dance. I need to dance my cleaning chores away (after I shut the curtains, lol).
We did a huge cleaning yesterday. Nothing starts the new year like honest clean (not just ‘looks’ clean but truly is clean). 🙂 Happy New Year!
I always love finding cleaning products that make cleaning easier. What I don’t love is how my family messes up all my hard work in like 10 minutes. I need to get my hands on some of these cool Libman products.
I love your divide and conquer idea. I am getting myself that bucket and involving the family!!!
Very useful seven tips. Wished I had come across this post earlier. It is never too late though. Thank you.
I totally love all this. I know being grateful to what you already have is key to good life. My favorite is wiping away evil.
we are going away this week so I am going to go on a massive cleaning spree haha my husband actually just bought us one of those Libman brushes and I LOVE it. I can’t believe I never even knew they existed!
We always have big clean for the new year, I think it’s important to get the home in order for a clear mind and setting goals for the year. We took down the tree today and I can’t tell you how happy I am to have the carpet hoovered of all that glitter!
I am working on being more grateful and dancing every single day of my life– for a few minutes– it makes me happy.
i surely agree! starting any year, any day with a clean environment and clean body is the best for my opinion!
Can you come clean my home for me? 🙂 I confess I struggle to feel grateful as I clean the toilet, lol! Great suggestions though and maybe 2018 will be the year I actually get on top of this housework malarky (but how are you supposed to do ALL that, work, cook, exercise, raise the kids and enjoy yourself?! There’s only 24 hours in the day….)
Wow! I adore you it’s really nice to start a new year with cleanliness at home. Such a great idea, I also love the third one “Be Grateful” no matter how big or small blessings that we have receive or we will received in the future we must always be grateful and lastly, “Dance or Sing like there’s no one watching” love this one!
Thanks for these tips. I’m going to have to use some of them to clean the house.
All these are great tips to welcome the new year!I totally agree with cleaning the home in every possible way. That will be a good start for an organized and healthy home!
We always try to declutter the house to get a brand new start to the year. We also try to get our vacation planner settle that way we know how much we have to set apart to be able to accomplish those plans.
I like to make resolutions and organize my house. After the holidays, it’s always a disaster!
I just need a cleaning fairy to come and help me….
Great tips! I like to do a cleaning of sorts, too!
We always head over to my dad’s house and have the usual kielbasa and kraut lol then he puts football on and I zone out bahahaha
#4 is an interesting view. Helpful tips to share. We clean in the new year.
We are a big family and spring type cleanings happen about 4 Times a year for us. I would love to win these awesome cleaning supplies. It’s goid to replenish at least once a year.
The dancing is a good idea. I hate cleaning otherwise.
Spring cleaning is around the corner! I do not look forward to it but fortunately Libman will make it easy on me! Would love to win!
Wow, all great tips! I too love welcoming the new year with a clean home. This Libman prize pack would definitely make cleaning so much easier! Happy New Year!
At the beginning of the year I go through everyone’s closets and dresssers to get rid of clothes that are no longer worn or are too small. I also go through the kids toy boxes and the kitchen utensils to get rid of things we don’t need or use anymore. It’s all about reducing clutter.
I always make new year’s resolutions regarding being more organized. I figure out how I can start that around the house, and try to throw unnecessary papers away as well. We tend to keep a lot of paper at my house!
I always go through cupboards and closets and look for things that need to be thrown away or donated. Then I clean and everything is ready for the new year.
Cleaning was on my top priority. I made sure I welcomed 2018 with a bang! clean home!
We clear clutter and donate unused items to bring in the new year!
I have always admired libman products. As a single mom anything to help with cleanup is a god send. I love the review that you have left it is inspiring and as always helpful.
Answer to the giveaway question:
At the beginning of the year I am making room for presents received Christmas. I don’t just ‘spring clean’ I also winter fall and summer clean every year I actually just call it seasonal cleaning now where I go through everything throwing out and donating the unused or out grown (limited space is our biggest issue). I clean everything that we keep.
I always deep clean my house and then we either donate or give away thing we don’t need that are in good condition. I always dread cleaning all 50 windows my home has lol.
I always start the new year by cleaning out our closets and dressers so we can donate clothing we no longer wear or that my son has outgrown. I also start out the new year by going through our refrigerator, freezer, and cabinets throwing out old and expired foods and medications.
These are excellent tips. I use the sponge technique, as well. I listen to music when I clean.
I normally start the year with making a list of needs and repairs we need to get around to. I also kind of start spring cleaning what I can around the house!
at the beginning of a year i like to start room by room organizing my house. i also like to make a list of small goals and set time frames i would like to achieve them in
I don;t do anything special. Clean up after Christmas, that’s about it
I love those tips. I start my spring cleaning when I take down the holiday decorations, so I get a head start!
Really great tips, these products look amazing!
