This event was an all expense paid experience with Kia. All opinions are 100% my own.
Usually, when I travel, the first list I make is that of the food places to hit. The second list is off the beaten path places to discover and another one of absolute can’t miss for the destination. Like the Le Timbre restaurant, La Pagode movie theater and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Two weeks ago I was in beautiful San Diego and while I was totally focussed on ridding great cars and making lasting friendships while getting to know an awesome brand, I did have a list. This list was totally different to my usual travel lists: Best Places for Stairs in San Diego.
Why Visit Steps in San Diego?
No, I was not looking for steps to use for my exercise routines in San Diego. Why on earth then? Our amazing host Kia challenged us to make a carpool karaoke. My fab crew and I settled on working on a tribute of sorts to the Spice Girls and their Wannabe song. Part of our video was featuring their famous dance routine on the steps of a club. Ginger Spice, Posh Spice, Sporty Spice and yours truly, Baby Spice simply needed the steps.
Best Stairs in San Diego For Exercising and Beyond
I am sharing my list. You can use them to exercise, sightsee or sit on them and take in the beauty that San Diego offers at every corner:
San Diego Convention Center:
This an “easy to find” spot in downtown San Diego. About 100 steps will give you options at the beautiful San Diego Convention center. Get to the stairs early in case there is a convention going on. You don’t want a crowd if you are exercising or trying to get awesome shots! 111 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101
La Mesa Hidden steps:
There are several steps to enjoy in the Mt. Nebo / Windsor Hills area. Besides being difficult to find these steps make for a good workout even if you are not trying to exercise. The stairs are in a residential neighborhood so parking is easy but keep the noise down, please. 8019 Windsor Dr, La Mesa, CA 91941

Amphitheater Mt Helix Park:
Breathtaking panoramic 360 views of San Diego are the reward for getting to these steps. The stairs Parking is limited, and you should check the event calendar in case the park is closed for a wedding or event. You might be lucky and catch a performance at this fabulous amphitheater! 4901 Mount Helix Dr, La Mesa, CA 91941-4354
Cabrillo national monument:
A park with easy hikes and great spaces to jog on, it also has stairs that lead to the top of the Point Loma for beautiful tide pool and harbor views.can visit the museum that commemorates the 1542 landing of the first European expedition in the West coast. Also, included in the admission ticket is the Old Point Loma Lighthouse which also offers stairs for you to discover. The steps here are wooden. commemorates the 1542 landing of the first European expedition.
Hard Rock Cafe San Diego Hotel rooftop bar – Float:
Want to look down on Gaslamp quarter in a chic haven of cool tunes, great food and fab access to pool and cabanas. Where are the steps? In the building. Take them instead of the elevator to get to the bar! This is a rooftop you don’t want skip and we had to find a way to include them here for you 🙂 207 5th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101

I have not been to San Diego before but all those steps make me think “exercise”, lol. I do think visiting the amphitheater would be pretty cool though. When I travel I always make a list of places with great food to check out.

This is a really neat post! I have some nice spots around where I am too!
Looks like a great place, I’d love to visit!
If I came to visit the place, I think of sightseeing first and exercising second. If the place is close by, I might visit it again to exercise -climbing up and down.
I have always wanted to go to San Diego. What an interesting subject for a post – really cool!
Whoa!! Who knew San Diego had so many amazing spots to get your steps in???
Awesome! Some of these look really challenging. I love an outdoor workout that doesn’t require a gym membership!
There are so many awesome spots to workout that are not in a gym. Get that fresh air! I love it.
I never thought I was looking for the best stairs in a town. I will probably, at the invitation of your post, first think about it when I get to a city.
The Spice Girls skit is hilarious. I never think of using the outdoor environment to exercise on, but these stairs are amazing.
