Are you ready for a fun day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? There is so much fun to have at this park. For example, the nighttime new shows, or the fun foods at Pandora’s Na’vi restaurant. I do love indulging in the food flavors the park offers. Don’t miss my Animal Kingdom restaurant guide. Yum! There are also great rides to enjoy and here is a Disney Animal Kingdom Thrill Ride Guide to help plan your visit to the park.

Disney Animal Kingdom Thrill Ride Guide
Let’s plunge right into the Animal Kingdom Thrill Ride Guide!
Flight of Passage
One of the two new rides at Pandora, the Flight of Passage will not disappoint. Many consider this more of a psychological ride, but it works it thrill just as well! You need to be at least 44″ to ride and you definitively want to bypass the beautiful queue with a FastPass. As interesting as it might be, it is simply too long. Get all the details on what you need to know about the Flight of passage right here. Don’t just do Flight of Passage, stay a while and explore Pandora at Animal Kingdom
Expedition Everest
Are you sure you are ready to encounter the Yeti? If you are, you need to ride a super fun roller coaster that is our all-time favorite. Located in Asia, the queue takes you through plenty of explorer artifacts and news clips on Yeti sightings.
The roller coaster itself is fast at 50 mph and you will go backward for a while and at times in the dark!. Heads up for those who get dizzy easily. The highlight of the ride is the Yeti encounter who misses you by a hair as you descend one last time back to the station.
Both the line and the ride have tons of details everywhere you turn. You must be at least 44″ to ride and a FastPass is a good idea. Although early morning and single rider lines can take less than 10 minutes.
Kali River Rapids
You are going to really be thankful for this “refreshing” ride during the Florida summertime. The height requirement is 38″ and above. For this ride in Asia, you will step into big round rafts that spin freely in a river that goes through a rainforest. There are some beautiful spots to admire along the ride, but honestly, you will be completely distracted by the suspense of whether or not you are about to get soaked. Getting wet on this ride is completely random. You could get a few sprinkles, or totally drenched. Take advantage of the free lockers near the ride to store everything that you don’t want to get wet. You just don’t know! Look out for geysers and bridges where passers-by can shoot water at you. the ride is even more exciting at night.
Cool mom tip: try getting on the ride at midday so the sun dries you out quickly or late in the day so you are not wet for long.
Kilimanjaro Safari
This amazing experience will take you inside the Harambe Natural Preserve on a jeep. To make sure you see the most animals during your safari, try to ride it early morning or late afternoon.
Cool mom tip: enhance your thrills and sit in the back of the jeep.
Dinosaur
Some can call this a tame ride. While there are no drops, it is a fast action-packed ride. Many dark moments await you including a dinosaur “attack”. It makes for some high-tech pre-historic fun! Find it at Dinoland USA.
Primeval Whirl
Located at Dinoland USA, this ride does not tell a story. It is all about the ride itself. Don’t expect the same level of thrills here because, despite the whirls and dips, speed does not surpass 30 mph and the highest pot is 43 ft as opposed to the 112 feet of Expedition Everest.

I do like thrill rides but it has been awhile since I have been on one. I love the Safari ride and that is usually what we head to first. We have not seen Pandora yet either so that would be fun to see. There are lots of fun things to do at Animal Kingdom. I can’t wait till we go back.
I love love love thrill rides and my kids do too. We are ready to take your great guide with us
I’d probably do the River Rapids first, those tend to be my favorites at all the parks I’ve ever been to. I’ve never been to Animal Kingdom before but I would LOVE to go! I love thrill rides of all kinds 🙂
I love all the rides but Flight of Passage is my favorite
When I was younger I loved them. I still know if I got the chance to go I would hop on no questions asked lol
I love thrill rides, I’d ride River Rapids first!
I have to say, I used to love thill rides… THEN I worked at t amusement park when I was a teen. Working there ruined me. However, I love watching my husband and son ride!
(it ruined me as I see how quickly the rides are built. A lot of them are bought from other parks. Many times over they are not brand new… I also seen how fast they break!)
We love thrill rides, we enjoy the safari ride.
I’ve never been on any thrill rides. I would to try them though. Anything with water preferably. Or the Safari one would be awesome. Thanks for the tips.

I am not particularly fond of thrill rides bu my hubby and kiddos sure are. I’ll end up being the designated bag holder at whatever ride they decide they want to go to first.
