From our AntMan and the Wasp secret set visit, I couldn’t really tell if the movie would be appropiate for children . Marvel movies are often rated PG 13. Despite that, you might remember that I felt Infinity War was devastating for everyone kids and grown-ups alike. After being one of the lucky few that got to watch AntMan and the Wasp already, I can now to tell you if this amazing sequel, AntMan and The Wasp Appropiate for Children.
I was invited by Disney to the AntMan and the Wasp Set in Atlanta in Pinewood Studios. All geeking out over The Wasp and opinions shared are my own.
Is Marvel’s AntMan and The Wasp Appropriate for Children?
We are a Marvel family and love it when we can go cheer our superheroes together at the movies. With another amazing Marvel superhero about to hit theaters everywhere on July 6th, fans might be wondering if they should take their little ones to share the joy of Marvel. I will not hold it until the very end. I have to tell you right now that AntMan and the Wasp Is Kid-Friendly and you need to get your tickets now! That said, there are some considerations you might want to know about for your kids under 13. No spoilers.hey are ready for this movie. Additionally, I would consider these points for kids under 8 without giving any spoilers:
ACTION – VIOLENCE:
There is some. The highlight for me is to see powerful women in thrilling and action-packed scenes. There is no shortage of that in AntMan and The Wasp. The action sequences are amazing and man that girl power is off the hook!! Be on the lookout for The Wasp’s awesome skills, and it only gets better because the Ghost is a cool challenge.
LANGUAGE AND GESTURES:
There is some, for a Marvel movie it is kept to a low level, I think. I can’t remember gestures. There is no nudity, but there is kissing. It is not hot and heavy kissing.
INTENSE MOMENTS:
The most intense moments are either action packed or real life issues that families can relate to. Nothing excessively strong or really intense. I can see my 6-year-old sensitive one enjoying everything from the movie.
THE STRANGE THINGS:
This specifically refers to the post-credits clips. There is some going back to the last moments of Infinity War. I think either you can leave before them which would be a shame, or stay for them because the movie itself is so incredibly good that you can turn around and start a conversation to divert little minds off that one scene.
TECHNOLOGY:
After being wowed by Stark innovation, Black Panther took it all to a whole new level. Now AntMan and The Wasp, like Dr. Strange talk to up to us with tons of Quantum talk, updated suits that have cool upgrades and a fabulous tunnel that leads into the quantum realm. Don’t worry, it’s OK to sit there like Scott Lang and say “What he said” and still understand what is going on in the movie.
The shrinking and enlarging goes beyond AntMan and it is so much fun to watch it all go big and small all over the place! I would love to have a car case too. Get ready to spot what I am referring too.
Crazy Fun From Micro to Macro and Back
Remember I told you that Director Peyton Reed’s most difficult AntMan scene ever was in a school room? Well, that was a joy to watch and it really underlines the humor that AntMan delivers. Talking about humor, Michael Peña and his storytelling is as cool and smooth as the first time. This time it even includes la abuela in it!!
AntMan and The Wasp Is All About Family
If there is a Marvel movie that screams family to the top of its lungs it is AntMan and The Wasp So yes, talk all your family members to the movies with you. AntMan and the Wasp is a powerful movie of real people that wear very cool suits. They have their issues, dreams, and goals. These real people share with us their hearts with us. Most of all we are going to witness how their relationships evolve. In terms of family, we will be able to appreciate 3 different types of father-daughter relationships that will be explored. All the angles and stages they bring forth are powerful and beautiful. Plus, co-parenting done well, among others.
