How To Host An Awesome Pool Party On a Budget
The best thing of a cool summer party is that not much preparation is needed to have an amazing chill time. That said, there are some party essentials that need to fall into place for us to have the best summer party on the fly. Of course, after all that you have done or still plan for summer, the gist of it is how to host an awesome pool party on a budget. Here are my tips which are super affordable thanks to BJ’s Wholesale Club and their enormous assortment of perfect items for every type of pool party:
Invites:
Send on-line invites, use a free invites app, or text a fun pool image with party details to your friends. You will not find anything cheaper than that!
Easy food:
When there is a pool party everyone reaches for hot dogs. Affordable and a crowd pleaser, you can’t go wrong with them. Better yet if you get them in pre-packaged bulk quantities, so you don’t have to use them all if you don’t need to. But, if you have a fancy for something else think about a frozen pizza that you can throw on the grill alongside the hot dogs. Side dishes are a great way to stretch your budget and offer a filling meal. Can you say ready-made potato salad? Oh, and don’t forget to grab one of those huge chip bags. For a hot dog alternative try this Asturian sandwich recipe.
Drinks:
Get a lemonade powder mix and you practically have an endless supply to quench everyone’s’ thirst for a day! You can also ask guests to bring their drink of choice. Make sure you have plenty of ice and a place to make it easy for everyone to access. Think self-serve, that way you don’t have to be running back and forth offering everyone something to drink. A cooler front and center on the pool deck will do the trick. Want to get creative? How about enhancing your ice cubes with this idea. By the way, don’t feel bad asking our friends to bring their favorite drink.
Pool Fun:
A couple of floaters can entertain the kids for hours! Fashionable on-trend animal and food-themed floaters from BJ’s are ready to be inflated!
Decor:
A herd of mix and unmatched mason jars with tea lights make for a great “summery” centerpiece that lights up the table beautifully. You might want to serve your drink in fancy luau-inspired bottles that won’t cost you more than $0.50 to decorate or keep the kids entertained as they help you make these floating paper lanterns to illuminate the pool once everyone starts changing out of their bathing suits.
You can even get your bathing suit and summer flower dress at BJ’s while you pick up all your pool party needs!

What great ideas! I wish I had a pool. I’m not above blowing up an inflatable one and having a party though 😉 I love to eat with friends!
Pool parties were always something I wish I could have for a birthday party as a kid (born in the winter in New England makes that difficult). But with my little one (mid-autumn in the the South), it’s a possibility. Your post has a lot of great ideas for what I can do. Thanks!
