“Good morning class, we are going to learn about quantum mechanics this morning.”. And that is how we started our converstation. What a treat to be able to sit down and talk Marvel with such a prolific and outstanding actor. Michael Douglas was classy, charming, a gentleman and easy to talk to. Above all, I appreciated his down to earth attitude. Is there a Marvel Superhero Moment For Micheal Douglas? All the details in our Michael Douglas Antman and The Wasp Exclusive Interview.
Michael Douglas Antman and The Wasp Exclusive Interview
When we interviewed Michael Douglas he still hadn’t seen the movie. He was waiting for premiere night which was that night. He did share that director Peyton Reed was beaming and had heard many people like it better than AntMan. He had plenty more to share on AntMan and The Wasp!
Back as Hank Pym
The scientist is back at work with his daughter in his unconventional lab. Being reunited with the cast and crew is a good thing for Michael Douglas who said:“There’s just an inherent relaxation and joy normally about a sequel… it’s why – you look back in the old days – why actors and actresses work together or directors together. You don’t have to introduce yourself again, you know? You know each other. There’s a comfort factor which makes it much easier. People know your sense of humor. You’re not going to offend anybody. So, I mean the comfort factor is really nice.” He goes on: “Combined with the fact that Paul is just a sweetheart. He’s just a great, great guy so it sets the tone. You know, most of my career I’ve been number one on a call sheet, the lead, and so to be in a supporting role in a picture like this, you watch how he does it, you assume a lot of responsibility. If you’re smart, if you’re the first, you set the tone. You’re the first one on the set, you make everybody else comfortable to make their best performances possible. I mean that’s just all part of the thing.”.

Michael Douglas Suits Up! A Marvel Superhero moment for Michael Douglas
In the sequel, there is a Marvel Superhero Moment For Michael Douglas. Yes, he was disappointed about not being able to suit up in AntMan. Nevertheless, he does in AntMan and The Wasp! His thoughts on that:“I kind of reluctantly looked whimsically at how good everybody looked, Paul looked great. So, yeah, I got my old suit back up so if this continues, my feeling is, if you get big or small they make you young, I mean, I might as well get back in there again.”.
Talking suits, he did see a big sparkle in Evangeline Lilly: “I was excited for Evangeline because I remember, if you remember the end the first one, I don’t know if it was the tease after the credits or whatever but I show her Janet’s suit and there’s this look in her eye as Hope when she sees her mother’s suit. But what I was looking at her when she was doing the scene, I saw Evangeline going I’m going to be a superhero.”
Working with Michelle Pfeifer
I think the matchup is fantastic on screen. Micheal Douglas tell us: “Michelle was just such a treat. I mean, [I’m a] tremendous Michelle Pfeiffer fan. Never imagined ever getting a chance to work with her. Needless to say, to play 30 years younger. So, that was great.
Being Young Again on Screen
“It cracks me up. It just cracks me up, you know. I’ve never done any of these pictures before. The last one was the first green screen film. I’ve got a whole new appreciation for actors who can act when there’s nothing there. I mean it may be just basic bottom terrain but you’ll sit in these huge studios with green walls all around and (director) Peyton [is] telling you, okay, the asteroids coming in here. Look up here. And you’re afraid you’re going to be embarrassed. Then you see it put together and they know what they’re doing.”.
Will Michael Douglas Suit Up for Avengers 4?
We pressed hard and this was our answer: “If I open my mouth, a blowgun–. It’s a marvel blowgun–. [Micheal Douglas acts out a dart hitting his neck] I have learned my lesson. You have nothing. KGB has nothing on me…The quantum realm is getting popular.”.
