The moment I walked into the ice rink I felt I was there for the fights! My family did join in fans yelling “punch him in the face” for giggles, but not for real. We did witness plenty of pushing and shoving, but it was all in the name of a sport you would normally associate with South Florida. Despite that, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Florida Panthers! Here is our NHL Florida Panthers Game Guide for Families.

Show Off Your Panther Pride
Get to The Panther Game Early
While you can tailgate at the parking lot, I recommend you arrive early and visit the BB&T plaza right outside of the main entrance. That is because there is usually games and entertainment for everyone pre-game time. You can enjoy the different activities and booths available as well as have a hand at fun prizes. Another reason to arrive early is that sometimes there are special giveaways for the first people through the door. We missed out on the coolest Florida Panther caps. Don’t be us.

The Kids, Stanley, Viktor, and the Rat Pack

Hungry and Thirsty? No Problem
The food and drink offering at the home of the Florida Panthers is abundant and varied. You can go from local drinks like Buhda Beer or specialty ice creams to nationally known food retailers. Important to note for those with the right drink preferences, Coca-Cola products are served throughout. Bottom line, there is something to please every craving or picky eater.
Den of Honor Exhibit
Make sure you take the kids to see the cool exhibit on all things Florida Panthers. The kids especially liked the different team jerseys displayed and voted on their favorites.
Throw a Rat!
It used to be that after ever cat score, fans would throw plastic rats into the rink. That practice has been banned but you can still throw a rat at the end of the game.
Don’t Be In A Hurry To Leave
Stay for a few more minutes after the game. It helps you avoid the people rushing to leave which makes it easier not to lose anyone in the crowd. Also, when you stay after the game you get to see the three best players of the night who usually come out and may give a lucky fan a shirt, stick or puck.
Always Cheer On The Florida Panthers
No need to be blue after all the fun of attending a Florida Panther game with your family. You can definitively relieve the amazing memories and celebrate 25 years of ice hockey in South Florida! How? Have a picnic at the beach, park or your backyard and make sure to hand out the awesome limited edition 25th anniversary glass Coca-Cola Bottles. You can’t go wrong with them. Looks like a fun family outing! I was just looking into going to our local hockey arena for a family outing so this will be helpful for me to think about a few things as well.
Oh wow, that looks so fun! I would love to go! Ibredible.
This is such an awesome guide! I wish I had had things like this when I was going to Avalanche games as a kid, but they didn’t have anything as fun as throw the rat.
I would love to be able to watch a game! It would be a nice tourist thing to do!
Ah, this is very cool – and just the information I need. I just moved from Colorado to Tampa Bay and have been wanting to see a match. Thank you for all insight!

Valuable tips for the family who would want to go to a game. I have started to take note of some of the points mentioned here, That would make up for the time lost….
I love watching games! And I would love to watch the Panthers game. Anyway, from my experience, I always get to such matches early enough and get a good place for me to sit. And prepare myself with cash to buy as much snacks.
I laughed when I read ‘I felt I was there for the fights!” and I suspect that’s probably what goes through the minds of many spectators at sporting events where there is some physicality involved. I would love to watch ice hockey some day because the energy at games always seems so infectious.
This is a good game guide for families watching the game live. It will add more fun to the game and for sure, everyone in the family will be guaranteed an awesome time. Great advice on parking. That is good information to have on hand.
