All Christmas movies talk about family and doing good for others. Noelle is no exception. But, Disney Plus Noelle Carries a Kringle Punch that is powerful, heartwarming and funny. It is time for Disney Plus Noelle movie review and parental guide. Its power mostly resides in that it goes beyond your typical holiday spirit uplifting messages. It has a lot more to it. You need to watch it, and count the hidden Mickeys too.
Thank you Disney for hosting us during the Geekly Retreat. All opinions and holiday cheer are 100% my own.
All The Holiday Cheer
Noelle is a Christmas movie and it takes us from the North Pole to Phoenix, Arizona. As you can imagine the Christmas spirit is brimming in the North Pole. You will get plenty of yule tide decor ideas by watching the moive. Yup, star Anna Henrick does not loose her wintry fashion fun under the Arizona sun. Also, the “stocking is not half empty” in this movie. You are going to love the funny Christmas one-liners like “Oh my garland!” so don’t “hold your reindeer” and be on the look out for those.
About Disney Plus Noelle Movie
In Disney+’s holiday comedy “Noelle,” Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit and holiday fun, but wishes she could do something “important” like her beloved brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.
The Powerful Messages
Before the Noelle Movie Review I wanted to share some wonderufl messages. As I mentioned, the holiday messages are alive and kicking in this movie. Additionally, it goes further to inlcude some powerful thoughts that we can totally use year round:
Girlpower
What would Noelle do? Without being in your face about it, Noelle takes charge of the movie in a subtle way. She leads the way and goes to show North Pole townspeople that contrary to their beliefs (not necessarily their rules) girls cand and do.
Find our own path
You can do anything regardless of your gender. While the movie sure shows it with Noelle, pay close attention to what her brother does with his life.
Find a solution
Don’t just stand there, go make it better!
Support family and friends
Not only should you believe in them, ask yourself, how are you a rock for your friends and family? Make a difference!
Believe in yourself
Now this one is a reminder. No explanations needed.
Noelle Parental Guide
ACTION AND VIOLENCE
There is some minor fun sleigh action.
LANGUAGE AND GESTURES
I really didn’t catch any language at all. Quite to opposite with the clever holiday one-liner references I told you about already. There is zero sexual content and you will see people seem to fall in love, but there is no confirmation beyond a friendship.
INTENSE MOMENTS
The idea that Santa retires might be an issue for little ones. Sensitive topics such as poverty and disability are touched upon. Also, get ready for some ugly cry. You will need tissues. There are moments that will pull at heartstrings and it might feel like they are one after the other. There is no warning for it. Be ready.
Noelle Movie Review
I love how the story brings out some very real feelings without being dramatic. That said, don’t forget the sentimental moments, those are strong and will thoroughly move you. Even if you are not a crier. Honestly, I did not expect to cry for this movie. At one point it was simply useless to keep trying to hold back my tears. When I saw who the star was, I thought it would be a basic entertaining holiday movie. That is because the movie I have seen with her are basic to me. But, I will admit I was very wrong. With powerful messages like the ones listed there is plenty look at. I enjoyed that the Noelle powerful messages, even the holiday ones, are not beaten into the story. They effortlessly come out and are there for you to see and graps. You will smile, laugh and cry. Noelle has heart. More than that, it has a great Christmas story that you will enjoy watching over and over again this season.
Noelle is playing on Disney Plus now, so grab a snack and your family and start your holiday movie watching!
