Here are some Tips To Know It’s Time to Change Your Doctor.  Because, when something isn’t quite right, we turn to our physicians for guidance, reassurance, and help. But, if you find yourself dreading picking up that phone and making an appointment with your doctor, it might be time to find a new one.

Tips to know its time to change doctors

Do You Love Your Doctor?

A doctor that isn’t providing you with the care that you need is incredibly dangerous. Being unable to communicate clearly with your doctor or feeling that you’re not being listened to is when medical malpractice can occur. A misdiagnosed illness, a delay in diagnosis, the wrong medication, or even an error whilst you’re pregnant can have devastating consequences – get a PI lawyer based in Atlanta if you believe you’re the victim of medical malpractice.

Tips To Know It’s Time to Change Your Doctor

So, should you look for a new doctor? Here we’ll look at the top signs that it’s time to change your doctor.

You don’t feel listened to

You’ve had a problem for months that won’t go away. You’ve had numerous appointments, yet everything suggested hasn’t worked. You’re asking for help, but your concerns are simply dismissed. You’ve suggested what your problem might be, but they won’t listen, and your medical problems are put down as something else. Sound familiar?

This kind of attitude is even more concerning if there are children involved. Not being listened to in the doctor’s office is incredibly dangerous. If you don’t feel like your doctor is taking your seriously or listening to your concerns, find a new one.

Their bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired

Not every doctor is happy and mothering. Others, take a more professional approach. We all have our preferences when it comes to bedside manner, however, if your doctors’ bedside manner leaves you feeling hurt, or they’re rude and clearly unsympathetic then you should look elsewhere. There is a difference between being professional and uncaring, how you feel after your appointment should let you know which one your doctor is.

They’re asking you personal questions

Of course, your doctor will need to ask you personal questions, but they should be relevant! But, some aspects of your personal life don’t need to be mixed with your medical care. If certain questions are making you feel uncomfortable, you simply don’t have to answer.

Their doctor’s office doesn’t meet your standards

Not all doctors’ offices are high-tech, some are still quite aesthetically traditional; however, they’re designed, they should all have high standards of hygiene and be in good condition. Dirty surfaces, dust, grime, perhaps your doctor is looking a little worse for wear…look out for these simple warning signs and if you see any, look for another doctor.

Finally, the office staff make everything difficult

The reception staff has a difficult job of handling calls, organizing admin, and keeping the doctors’ office running. Despite these responsibilities, they should always be polite, courteous, and respectful. Whether they’re just downright rude, talking loudly about your condition for the whole waiting room to hear, not returning your calls, or failing to handle prescriptions correctly, if you’re dissatisfied with the office staff, it’s time to move on.
