Gabby’s DollHouse is Cat-tastic! A New Netflix – Dreamworks Series to Love
I will say that the first thing I love about the show is that it is for the whole family. Yes, it is intended for the small littles, but everyone will enjoy watching it. In particular, my tweens loved the unboxing aspect of the show. The younger ones were all about the adventure and recreating the DIY projects featured in the show. Finally, I am all over the educational aspects of the program. Not only does it help build creativity, imagination, and motor skills via its crafts. Also, encourages the premise that it is OK to make mistakes. I was blown away by this concept. In today’s world, we do need to take a moment to learn from our mistakes and move on. Instead of dwelling on them. Don’t you agree? The icing on the cake? Well, all the adorable cat friends we get!!! Yes, Gabby’s DollHouse is Cat-tastic
Gabby’s DollHouse Executive Producer Interview
It was a pleasure to chat with Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey. They shared how their childhood and love for cats is part of the show. For Jennifer, it was bringing in the dollhouse. And, for Traci it was the miniatures. We spoke about how they come up with their fun crafts. Of course, I had to ask about the fact that Gabby subtly tells us how she loves herself. Their favorite episodes?
Jennifer shares: “One of my favorite episodes is the hiccup episode where Gabby has the hiccups. We’ve all had the hiccups in our lives so we really pushed ourselves to come up with fun and unique ideas for that episode that felt quirky and unique. So, how does Gabby do it differently? I feel like hiccups really epitomize that with all of the different things she tries to get rid of her hiccups. They all just feel a little wacky and crazy and unique. But also with the growth mindset, she doesn’t give up! No matter if something fails, she never gives up!”
Traci tells us that: “One of my favorites is upcoming, it hasn’t dropped yet. It’s called “Cakey’s Cousins” and it’s all about hanging out with your cousins. Gabby unboxes little cupcake cousins who come into the dollhouse for a playdate. Cakey has everything all planned out you know the way it’s going to go. Of course, it doesn’t go as planned. Putting my producer and Mom hat on, I have things all planned out for my kids like making cookies and all but then havoc ensues and things do not go as planned. They all still end up having fun, of course, but the “never give up mentality” is there again! I just love the art of Cakey just rolling with it and saying it’s okay because we are making great memories!”
