Finally, I get to share the Tom and Jerry The Movie Movie Review! The nostalgia of this film for me is really what had me so excited for it. I just couldn’t wait to share Tom and Jerry with the kids. Definitively, this movie is kid-friendly. There are a couple of things to look out for here the parent guide. Plus I have an overview on for the Tom and Jerry The Movie Movie Review.
Tom and Jerry The Movie Parent Guide
To start, the movie is rated PG. I will share some points to consider before you watch the movie. Before we go there, if your kids are not familiar with Tom and Jerry, maybe explain about their frenemy situation. The fead has been going on for ages. So, why are they friendly with each other out of the blue? Now, the Tom and Jerry Parental Guide:
Can you say animal tornado? I am in awe that they pulled it off in a live action movie!!! Plus, added a human to it! But, I digress. There is chasing, and all the fast action you can anticipate from the cartoon in the movie.
Our beloved frenemies have plans and do things to each other. Nothing major to report that you would not expect from cartoons.
I didn’t catch anything major to report.
The chase, the mayhem and the destruction might not sit well with your more sensitive kids.
Tom and Jerry The Movie Movie Review
Artistically, there are some incredible components in the film. Case and point the mega contraption you see in it. I totally blown away to discover it was all made with CGI! Director Tim Story shared that and many more Tom and Jerry Fun Facts during our interview. Now, I am a super fan of Michael Peña in AntMan. His versatility in R rated movies and movies like this one is fantastic. Nevertheless, I was not excited for the acting in this film. Yes, I know that acting to imaginary counterparts is difficult. That said, Peña’s accent acting did not convince me one bit. But, I do overlook that because it is fantastic entertainment for the kids. It wash a joy to hear them laugh out loud so many times to my beloved frenemies. Definitively, the music of the film is on point and will have more than one bopping their heads. Furthermore, I appreciate the inclusion the film features in the human cast. 🙂
If you are a Tom and Jerry fan, you will love to see their antics on screen again. It really was fun to see them in New York City. By the way, it was perfectly captured (because the movie was not filmed in NYC). I appreciated the combination of animation and live-action. The animal tornado is a feat, and the kids LOVE it! I admit, after a few minutes, I was not interested anymore. It was difficult for me to stay with the movie. I got some good adult jokes, and like the children enjoyed the wedding mayhem. The cake situation just made me want to be in there helping out with the situation! There are some fun and cool scenes everyone will appreciate.. The kids were in stitches and enjoyed every minute of it! Plus, it has some great positive messages that I will be sharing with your soon.
By the way, if you are looking to mark the Tom and Jerry The Movie release, I totally suggest making and epic cake! Here is ours as an inspiration 🙂
