Cruella Owns It – Overall Parental Guide
At its heart, Cruella is a film about a girl who knows who she is and accepts herself, good and mad. She is a lot of fun to watch and the fashion is masterpiece after masterpiece of movie costuming! Oh, to be one of the Emmas using some over the top hair and dresses. Visually it is striking. The sets are incredible and it is just so much fun to see all the details in each scene.
The Kid- Friendly Verdict
So, is Cruella Kid-Friendly? Yes, I would say it is. Older kids will love the snarkyness of the film. Your fashionistas will be all over the make-up, hair, and fashion. Younger ones might be frightened at times and perhaps waiting for a clearer explanations as to why Cruella wants to make dog fur coats. If the dark parts go over their heads, they will enjoy the film So, I’d say it is a great movie for tweens. A good movie for those 7 and up. Difficult to keep 6 and under glued to this screen for over 2 hours. A fantastic movie for Disney fans who love to see how the company expands its story lines.

About Cruella
Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
