Who is The God of Mischief?
As Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the MCU for the last 10 years shares: “What I love about the series is Loki is stripped of everything that’s familiar to him,” he said. “Thor is not close by. Asgard seems some distance away The Avengers, for the time being, aren’t in sight. He’s stripped of his status and his power. If you take all of those things Loki has used to identify himself over the last six movies, what remains of Loki? Who is he within or outside of those things? I think those questions for all of us became really fascinating to ask…is he capable of growth? Is he capable of change? Do his experiences with the TVA give him insight to who he might be?…I hope the audience get a kick out of where we might go.”
Loki Explained
There is so much Loki fans want. But, it is no secret that this reformed villain might be a misunderstood for many. Owen Wilson, who co-stars Loki, shared that Tom Hiddleston gave “Loki Lectures” which went deep into the mythology of the character. Mr. Hiddleston mentioned that “There was a question of when does Loki wear the horns? Why does he wear them? Is it a ceremonial thing? Or are they somehow an extension of some emotional intention, but he’s particularly malevolent at those times. And it was kind of interesting to be asked these questions from outside the experience. All becomes clear in time.” So, get ready to get to know Loki a whole lot better. Sign me up for Loki school!
Loki and Agent Mobius
This God finds his match. Agent Mobius is a Loki expert and he probably knows about Loki than himself. Therefore, the scenes between Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston are a joy to watch. Yes, the intelligent fun banter mixed in with humor is a fantastic combination that the pair lights up and keeps up with.
Strong female characters
Both ladies come from very different perspectives. Yet, both of them are solid and powerful in their roles. Definitively, focussed on their jobs and poised to deliver interesting twists to the series. Keep an eye out for Gugu Mbatha-Raw because she shared that this is more of an origin story for Ravonna Renslayer.
The TVA
It seems the Time Variance Authority will give us a few important Aha moments. We do see the Tesseract, the infinity stones and get educated on variances and the sacred timeline.
Easter Eggs
You will definitively see them in the first two episodes. And, there is good reason to expect more in the subsequent episodes. Will you catch them all?
Finally, when Kevin Feige says that Loki will “have more impact on the MCU than any of the shows thus far.” Well, you better mark your calendar in bright ink and not miss a single episode, am I right?
