Donuts, Queens and All Year Round Celebrations
You know we are always ready for all things Disney. As a matter of fact, these Evil Queen Donuts are just the way to announce we are going to Disney’s Boo Bash! I have to say, that alone got me super inspired to making this sweet treat. You are going to love making them because despite the final look, they are pretty easy to make. Plus, they are delicious! Not to mention, a fabulous reason to have a themed party around say Disney Villains, Snow White, or simply all the Evil queens!
Delicious Evil Queen Donuts Recipe
This striking looking Evil Queen Donuts Recipe makes 15. They definitively will be as much fun making as they will be eating! Here is the complete recipe and tutorial:
Donut ingredients:
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 1.5 tablespoons of milk
Directions :
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a donut baking pan with baking spray
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, butter, and vanilla extract
- Combine the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined
- Spoon batter into donut pan and bake for 10 minutes
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 6 minutes before removing and placing the donut’s onto a wire rack
- Repeat steps until all batter is used.
Yes, you can totally skip the above and get plain donuts from the store.
Evil Queen Fondant ingredients:
- 1 can of Gold edible spray
- 1 box of Yellow fondant.
- 2 cups of powder sugar
- Image cut out of the Evil Queen’s Crown (Google it)
- 1 pairing knife
- A rolling pin
- Cutting board
Decorating directions:
- Lightly sprinkle powder sugar onto a cutting board, the rolling pin and onto the black fondant
- Place the yellow fondant onto the middle of the cutting board and roll out the fondant to 1/8-1/4 inch thickness
- Cut out your crown and place the cut out onto the fondant.
- Use the knife to carefully run the blade along the edge of the cut out
- Repeat steps and cut out 14 more crowns out of space that you have left of the rolled out fondant.
- Lay out your 15 fondant pieces onto paper towels to dry for an hour
- Spray the crowns with the edible spray and allow to dry for an hour
Vanilla donut icing ingredients:
- 4 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon of clear corn syrup
- 0.5 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of clear vanilla extract
- Black and Purple gel food coloring
Icing Directions:
- Use a mixer to combine the powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk and vanilla extract and mix on medium to high speed until smooth and thick
- Scoop about half a cup of the icing into a bowl for the purple icing
- Add a few drops of black to the remaining white icing and mix until combined.
- Mix in a few more drops of black icing to get the shade of black that you like
Decorating Directions:
- Dip the top of the donut into the black icing and lightly shake off excess icing
- Place onto the wire rack for 30 minutes to dry
- Dip the bottom of the donut into the purple icing and shake of excess icing
- Place donut onto wire rack and allow to dry for 15 minutes
- Place the crown onto the top half of the donuts
Apple decoration ingredients:
- 3 egg whites
- 3.5 cups of powder sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cream of tarter
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 3 disposable piping bags with number 2 tips
- Red, Brown and Green gel icing colors
Directions
- Mix together the egg whites, powdered sugar, cream of tarter, and vanilla together until stiff with peaks
- Divide the icing into 3 bowls
- Add a few drops of each color into their own bowl and mix until combined
- Scoop icing into their own bags
- Pipe the apple shape onto the bottom of the donut
- Now, pipe stem in the middle
- Finally, pipe out a leaf shape onto the side of the stem
