Clifford The Big Red Dog Movie Review
We love how Clifford jumps out of the pages of the book by Norman Brindell in to our screen! This beloved children classic book comes at us with plenty of fun, and adventure. Yes, we get action and lots of laughs in the process. The best thing for the kids might be making wishes that come true over night in a BIG way. But, not only. There is plenty they will love. I mean, witnessing a puppy become over 10 feet tall in a sleep is just perfect! This is just the start of our Clifford The Big Red Dog Movie Review.
Here are the points that immediately jump at us:
- It is good natured, sweet and funny.
- A bit simplistic, yet it works.
- The CGI could have been better, but it is hard not to love that big red furry face.
- Easy to understand for the younger ones.
Clifford The Big Red Dog Messages and Conversation Starters
Not to be missed, here is a short list of great topics the movie makes us think of:
- Stand up for yourself
- Be yourself
- Respect others
- Follow your dreams (even if around NYC!)
- Give others a chance
Clifford The Big Red Dog Overall Review
Bottom line, this movie is about family, friendship and being good to each other. I love the diversity in the film even if no Latino was part of the core cast. A bit over the top, and predictable, but just right. Definitively, this movie is a BIG recommendation for all kids under 10. Yes, for their parents as well. It is a great co-watching movie where parents will be laughing at the jokes too.
ABOUT CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
