The holidays are around the corner and I am looking for ideas to celebrate! Yes, despite our South Florida weather, I already intend to snuggle up to all the goodness of Hallmark Channel’s
There is something about the holidays that just lights up my day and give me smiles. Perhaps is the memories that the season evokes, or the traditions I plan to keep sharing with my family. Sometimes, I do feel it is the spirit of generosity and love that is lifted further in these days. Maybe that is why I call myself a Hallmarkie, Because that is exactly what Hallmark delivers in its holiday features. Yes, even during Christmas in July fun!
A Christmas Treasure
My memories are my Christmas Treasure. Naturally, I was captivated by the tittle of one of the 41 new Hallmark Channel Christmas movies
This movie is starred by Jordin Sparks and Michael Xavier. In this movie, after opening a 100-year-old time capsule and meeting a charming chef, Lou questions whether or not she should move to New York after Christmas and further her writing career. Doesn’t it already sound inspiring and uplifting?
The Holiday Memories
Undoubtedly, this is the time for memory making. And, for all those great trips down memory lane. It seems like every day in December we had a holiday tradition to carry out. Yes, my mom is huge on Christmas and goes all out every year. Indeed, we had cookie baking and exchanges. Also, there was and is a whole ritual around decorating the Christmas tree. Of course, when she discovered Hallmark Channel and the Countdown to Christmas you better believe we started watching every movie. Those Hallmark movies and The Novena are without a doubt my favorite memories, traditions and what I look forward to the most.
The Novena
For nine days leading up to Christmas Eve, we would all (friends and family) gather every night in a different house. While the purpose was religious in nature, every night ended up in a big party. Traditional recipes that make an appearance once a year were eaten at The Novena. Also, fireworks displays and sending luminaries into the dark skies was a must do. Inevitably, songs were sang and dancing ensued. Wow, this was 9 days of non-stop partying! It was vibrant and very yummy. Ahhh, to be a kid in a novena again…..cue in the nostalgia. Definitively, nothing beats the experiences of the holidays. This is why, I do snuggle up and make a big deal about gathering up the family to watch the feel good Hallmark Christmas movies.
