Is Jurassic World Dominion Kid Friendly? If you need all the Jurassic franchise nostalgia, you can not miss Jurassic World Dominion! This is the sixth movie under this world and while your dino enthusiast kid might be ready to watch this film, you might have reservations. Here are points and suggestions to consider for you to determine if Jurassic World Dominion is appropriate for children. Or, at least your children.
Jurassic World Dominion Parent Guide
No, we do not get a chance to witness much of Dinosaurs living freely in a world of humans after Fallen Kingdom has happened. And, I do feel it missed something of character. But, I digress. Back to the parent guide. This movie is rated PG-13 intense sequences of action, some violence and language.”.That could mean a lot of things, right? Here, are our usual points to help you decide if this movie is the ticket for your family.
Action/ Violence
Yes, there is lots of action and lots of violence. If you have seen the previous Jurassic movies, you know to expect dinosaurs attaching/ eating humans. There is no gore or blood shown to accompany the crunching sound bites and screaming that does go on. Violence also comes in human form. In how humans treat others. Kidnapping, guns and knives are part of the movie.
Language
1 F bomb to report plus a hand gesture. Decidedly, very much in line with a PG-13 movie classification.
INTENSE MOMENTS
So, while this is not a horror movie, there are plenty of scare moments. It might be more disturbing than scary and your littles might not be ready for all that human chomping or not so supportive moments from other humans.
Adult topics
There is no nudity, and there is a kiss. An adult injects a baby and the child cries, but it is understood that the adult is a doctor.
Most likely the biggest issue is a person turning a blind eye to others in need to fulfill his/her goals.
Is Jurassic World Dominion Kid Friendly? Overall Thoughts
Yes, I am excited over all the Easter Eggs. Plus, most of the cast is reunited. But, no, I am not overly excited for this movie. It does feel forced at times. Definitively, it is a great action film to enjoy, but is Jurassic World Dominion safe for kids? At two hours and 27 minutes, potty breaks might be an issue. I did find myself being bored and distracted at times. I can totally see those under 12 do the same. No, I don’t think it is a good movie for those 11 and under. Unless, your child has seen the previous films in the franchise. Nevertheless, there are plenty of topics touched upon that can be great to explore in conversation with the kids that do get to watch it. For example, intellectual property rights, doing the right thing, corruption, loneliness, types of family, loyalty, or whistleblowing. As for the franchise, I think the door is open to more chapters, but I already feel it went extinct.
