So, Is Quantumania kid friendly? Is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania safe for the youngest Marvel fans?  Should kids watch  the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Movie? Time for AntMan and The Wasp Quantumania Parent Guide. We set out to answer these question and give a review on the movie that sets off phase V for the MCU.  Here is what parent need to know before experiencing the Quantum realm with their families.

AntMan and The Wasp Quantumania Parent Guide

Get ready for a whole new world.  While the movie continues with the family story and family bonds, it is quite different to the other two AntMan movies.  Naturally, what you can expect since most of the movie happens in the Quantum Realm.  This is a new place that no Marvel fan has seen before, or so the movie makers claim…. But, more about that later in the review.  To start this movie is rated PG 13 for language and violence.  Just like most Marvel movies.  While you might have young Marvel fans that have  watched MCU movies before, you might want to consider these points before saying yes to that family Marvel outing this weekend. So, is Quantumania kid friendly?  Is Quantumania right for your family?

ACTION/ VIOLENCE

It wouldn’t be a Marvel movie if there were no awesome fight sequence scenes in it, right?  There is a war going on.  People get killed and the idea of destruction, ending with groups of people.  Plus, there are a lot of different weapons used, battles, explosions take place, and the end justifies the means type of philosophy is at the villains heart. Expect to see “hurt” people or aliens as well as attacks on others.  It gets more violent towards the end of the movie.

LANGUAGE

Yes, lots of language to report.  Used at all different moments in the film

INTENSE MOMENTS

Several intense moments take place in this movie.  Your more sensitive littles will be impacted first of all with the Quantum realm itself.  It is a mix of ideas that don’t mesh together.  Like several planets lumped into one.  A bit confusing.  Aliens can be scary looking.  If anyone in your party is worried about the monsters under the bed, please do not watch this movie with them.  And the fact that there is a character determined to eliminate another can get little hearts racing with worry.

ADULT TOPICS

There is some kissing and references to sex.  But, there is no sex or nudity.  Also, adults and adult aliens are show drinking.

IS Quantumania KID FRIENDLY? OVERVIEW AND FINAL THOUGHTS

I would venture to say that this movie is good for kids 10 and over that are not easily scared by strange places and monsters. There is some bright lights and strobes that could be bothersome for younger viewers.  The length of the movie should be fine for those used to Marvel movies.

This movie feels very disconnected to the Scott Lang learning magic tricks.  So, while there is some familiarity, it goes in a whole new direction from what the AntMan franchise has delivered previously.  The humor is not the same, and not even as much as AntMan usually delivers.

Happy that we have started a new Marvel chapter, and the introduction to new characters and worlds.  Definitively nostalgic for what AntMan has been for us on the big screen.  Get my Quantumania review here.
