Things To Do in Tenerife

Things to do in Tenerife: A Guide

As one of Europe’s most beautiful and exciting locations, Tenerife offers families, couples, and solo explorers the chance to experience nature, landscapes, and great food all in one place. But with so many different options when you get there, and so much to explore, what are the best things to do in Tenerife? Here is what we suggest:

Go Whale Watching

As one of Europe’s best locations to experience sea life up close, Tenerife offers visitors the opportunity to see dolphins and other sea-dwelling creatures for themselves, giving them unforgettable memories to take home with them. This time we are not talking about visiting seals.  The real gem here is whale watching in Tenerife, as not everyone gets to experience something as moving and awe-inspiring as these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Experience the Local Food

There’s nothing quite like Spanish food after a long day of seeing some Whales, taking a long hike, or simply sitting in the sun and relaxing. Tenerife is absolutely rife with succulent foods, fresh Island produce, and local dishes offering big-time taste sensations all lovingly placed on one plate.

While it’s tempting to stick to those larger and more familiar food chains when abroad, take a chance on a smaller, family-owned business instead. You may just find a new favorite food!

Visit Teide National Park

As the biggest park in the entire Canary Islands, Teide National Park is one of the most popular tourist haunts of the entire Island. However, that’s for a pretty good reason! With unforgettable landscapes filled with volcanoes, petrified lava and massive craters, you can travel across the entire park while taking in some of the fantastic views. The range of trails and eateries surrounding the park makes this unique destination extra special.

See the Teno Mountains

The Teno Mountains are something of an underrated gem for tourists. If you love hiking or visiting small towns away from the bustle of the more centralised areas, then get yourself over to this mountain range on the northwest of Tenerife. For long walks, good exercise, fresh air and natural landscapes, you really can’t go wrong here!

Take a Nice Local Walk

Sometimes those once-in-a-lifetime experiences and memories come when you don’t have a concrete plan in place. Allow yourself to simply walk around one day and let Tenerife guide you through its streets and local businesses. Take a chance on a local eatery or let the area’s aura give you a clear idea of what Tenerife is truly about when the tourists aren’t around.

An Unforgettable Destination

This combination of good food, great hiking areas, and cultural insights into this Spanish Island will give you the ultimate adventure to remember. Whether you’re traveling alone or visiting this Island with your loved ones as a total surprise, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here. When it comes to planning for a trip that goes beyond a simple fun time and helps to create long-lasting memories, make Tenerife one of your top travel priorities this year!
